Pending regulatory approval, Calgary-based cannabis retailer High Tide Inc. expects to open its first Canna Cabana location in the City of Peterborough in mid-October. The 1850 square foot inline location is opening in the grocery-anchored plaza at 400 Lansdowne St East on one of Peterborough’s main commercial arterials. This addition will bring High Tide’s Canadian Canna Cabana store count to 233, including 107 in Ontario. “Canna Cabana’s growing consumer appeal and strong Ontario performance give us a clear opportunity to keep expanding into communities we have not yet served,” said High Tide founder and CEO Raj Grover. “Peterborough is another step in that strategy. Recent third-party research ranked Canna Cabana first nationally in brand awareness and as the retailer surveyed consumers shop most often. Our established Ontario stores also generated average revenue of 2.4 times the provincial peer average in June 2026. That combination of consumer preference and strong store performance reinforces my confidence as we prepare to introduce our exceptional value to Peterborough’s cannabis consumers.” On its way to its long-term goal of surpassing 350 locations nationwide, Canna Cabana continues to source opportunities in the 1200 square foot range in various formats. With the Canna Cabana opening, only one unit, a 1450 square foot unit with double sided exposure, remains available in the 400 Lansdowne Street East plaza, at Lansdowne St East and Willowcreek Boul. in the heart of Peterborough. The open plaza is anchored by a Loblaws Your Independent Grocer along with LCBO, Dollarama, McDonalds, etc. Over 58,500 people are living within a five-kilometre radius of the neighbourhood plaza and the daytime population in the area is in excess of 66,000 people.
