Celebrates Canadian Impact……….Jollibee, the global fried chicken chain of quick casual restaurants, celebrated its Canada momentum last week during a historic visit by two heads of state to its downtown Vancouver location: President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney. The visit marked a significant milestone for the brand, as it gears up to celebrate its upcoming ten-year anniversary in Canada. Jollibee entered the Canadian market December 2016, with its store opening in Winnipeg and current plans are to continue its rapid, nationwide expansion over the next five years through its North American franchising program that was introduced last year. “The immense privilege of hosting both President Marcos Jr. and Prime Minister Carney at our downtown Vancouver store, is a truly historic moment for our brand,” said Beth Dela Cruz, President, Jollibee North America. “This visit is a powerful symbol of Jollibee’s place on the global stage. It celebrates the deep bilateral ties between Canada and the Philippines, the vital role of the Filipino-Canadian diaspora in our growth, and the incredible momentum of our brand as we bring our unique, joyful dining experience to more Canadian families.” Jollibee is the flagship brand of Jollibee Group, the world’s largest Asian restaurant company. With over 10,400 locations worldwide, 100 restaurants in North America and about 28 being in Canada, the company has previously stated plans for 500 restaurants in North America by 2030. In addition to food court and opportunities in transit hubs, universities, etc., Jollibee targets freestanding and end cap locations, generally in a 2800 to 3500 square foot range. A drive-thru option is preferred.
