Founded in Quebec City’s South Shore region in the 1970s, Chocolats Favoris built its reputation on premium chocolates before expanding in the mid-1990s with its signature ice cream dipped in real chocolate. In 2013, Quebec entrepreneur Dominique Brown acquired the then three-location business and launched an ambitious national growth strategy, supported by the addition of a 42,000 square foot factory. The company’s first British Columbia location opened in Victoria in 2016, marking its western expansion. A franchise program introduced in 2022 further accelerated growth. While Chocolats Favoris presently maintains a strong presence with over 60 locations, the brand is now focused on expanding its footprint, seeking franchisees and sites in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. Manon Larose and Michelle Marcotte-Blart at Oberfeld Snowcap are responsible for the chain’s site selection across Canada. The chocolate and dessert specialty cafes target highly visible 1400 to 1800 square foot street front locations with patios in high traffic tourist and entertainment areas.
