For its second quarter that ended in early August 2026, Dollar Tree Inc., the Chesapeake, Virginia-based value retailer with over 9,400 stores in 48 U.S. states and seven Canadian provinces under the Dollar Tree and Dollar Tree Canada brands, reported net sales of $4.9-billion(US), a seven percent increase over the previous second quarter. Comparable store net sales increased 3.7 percent, driven by a 3.3 percent increase in average ticket and a 0.4 percent increase in traffic. During the quarter, Dollar Tree opened 75 new Dollar Tree stores and converted or added about 710 stores to the Dollar Tree multi-price format, ending the quarter with approximately 6,600 multi-price stores. Dollar Tree’s multi-price system includes items ranging from $150 to $7.00(US). “What continues to set Dollar Tree apart is our ability to deliver value, convenience, and the excitement of discovery all in one shopping trip,” said CEO Mike Creedon. “Our strategies are unlocking a better assortment in better-run stores, while allowing us to engage customers in more relevant and compelling ways.” Presently there are about 285 Dollar Tree stores operating in Canada and national expansion continues, targeting 8000 to 12,000 square foot locations with higher ceilings and at least 50 feet of frontage in well-anchored, better power centres as well as enclosed mall locations with exterior access. Mark Allen and Dawn MacDonald at Blueberry Commercial Real Estate have been retained to handle the chain’s site selection in the Atlantic market, Mike Sabetti at CBRE Ltd. is handling to search in Ontario and Stephen Knight and Dan Clark at Sitings Realty are handling the site selection for Dollar Tree in Western Canada.
