Later this week, the Firehouse Subs chain of quick service submarine sandwich restaurants, opens an 1132 square foot location at the base of the ICE Condos at 14 York St in Toronto’s Entertainment District. Amit Seth of Sai Seth Sons Hospitality is the multi-unit franchisee. Part of the Restaurant Brands International group since late 2021, the Firehouse Subs concept continues to expand in Canada and the U.S., offering franchise opportunities. The chain started 2026 with over 170 locations across Canada and has now passed the 180 mark. The chain generally targets highly visible locations ranging from about 800 to 2000 square foot range, ideally prominent in-line and end cap sites. Urban format locations are generally in the 800 to 1500 square foot range. Ryan McLaughlin and Jonathon Gray at Marcus & Millichap are handling the site selection for areas in Southern Ontario.
