Later this week, Crumbl Cookies will celebrate the grand opening of its second location in the Edmonton market and the first in the Sherwood Park neighbourhood. The inline1539 square foot unit opens at First Capital REIT’s Sherwood Towne Square at Baseline Rd and Sherwood Dr. Launched by Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley about five years ago, the fast-growing gourmet cookie chain has opened over 900 locations featuring its rotating flavours of cookies, made fresh in the on-site open kitchens and available in eye-catching pink box packaging. Earlier in 2023, Crumbl Cookies expanded internationally and have opened about five stores in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ontario. And in addition to the Sherwood Park location, others are scheduled for Edmonton and Mississauga later this year. The typical size ranges from about 1500 to 2500 square feet with large front windows. The chain targets highly visible locations with strong pedestrian traffic.
Sherwood Park Square is a 122,000 square foot open centre anchored by Home Depot along with Staples, Mark’s, Michael’s, HomeSense, etc. First Capital REIT’s Leasing Manager Judee Orfino notes that with Crumbl Cookies addition, Sherwood Towne Centre is now fully leased.
