The Burnt Tongue will be opening its fifth location in June at the Appleby Village plaza at New St and Appleby Line in Burlington, according to Insauga online news service. The inline 1120 square foot location is its first outside of the Hamilton area and will feature the chain’s rotating seasonal soup menu. The Burnt Tongue is a quick casual restaurant chain with café-style counter service that specializes in a rotating selection of made-from-scratch soups and with grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, hand-cut fries, etc., in its other restaurants, all made with premium, local ingredients. Local entrepreneurs Leo Tsangarakis and Dan Robinson launched The Burnt Tongue in 2013 on Cannon St East, just off of James St North in downtown Hamilton. The chain has since added locations on Locke St South and King St West in Hamilton and on King St West in Dundas.
