This week, Montreal-based fashion house Groupe Dynamite Inc. reported its financial results for the fiscal year 2026’s first quarter ended in early May 2026. Revenue for the quarter increased by 37 percent to $310.6 million(Cdn), compared to $226.7 million(Cdn) in the previous first quarter. The company also reported that retail sales per square foot increased by 32.4 percent compared to Q1 2025, reaching $1,001 in Q1 2026. In March 2026, Groupe Dynamite opened its first Garage stores in the U.K. in Bluewater Shopping Centre, near London, and on Oxford St. in London. During the quarter, the company opened five gross new stores. Three were in the U.S. along with the two U.K. locations. In addition, four Dynamite stores in Canada were closed and one Garage store in the U.S. closed to end the quarter with 307 stores. “Q1 was a strong start to fiscal 2026,” said President, COO Stacie Beaver. “Across both Garage and Dynamite, customers responded positively to our assortments, marketing campaigns and the consistency of the experience we deliver across channels. Our real estate strategy continues to be a significant driver of growth, customer acquisition and profitability. By opening new locations in premium centers, optimizing our fleet and delivering a compelling in-store experience, we continue to drive significant productivity improvements across our store network. Most importantly, we continue to see strong customer engagement across both brands, reflected in growth in our active customer base and increasing customer lifetime value.” Groupe Dynamite has stated revised plans for eight to ten net new store opening in fiscal 2026. Dynamite stores locate in 3000 to 5000 square foot units in malls and Garage stores are in the 3500 to 5000 square foot range, also in malls.
