Desi Truck Stops Inspiration……

Inspired by the sights, sounds and flavours of the truck stops, food carts and open-air markets of India that he experienced as a child in India, entrepreneur Naveen Seth introduced the Chaska Indian Street Food concept in Mississauga about six years ago.   The menu, with its chaat, kathi rolls, samodas, tava chicken, etc., is prepared daily using fresh premium ingredients and ‘spiced to perfection’.  Meats are halal and raised without hormones.  Earlier in April, the growing quick service chain opened a street front location at 2481 Taunton Rd. at Dundas St West in Oakville and later in the Summer, another of the Chaska restaurants, with the colourful murals and re-creations of South Asian graffiti and signage, opens in the 300 Rossland plaza in Ajax.  With almost ten units operating Chaska continues to explore expansion opportunities across the greater Toronto area with a particular interest in Mississauga and the west GTA markets.  Justin Curtis at Oberfeld Snowcap is handling the chain’s site selection in Ontario. The Chaska restaurants operate in high traffic street front locations in the 800 to 1500 square foot range.
