Following the opening of restaurants in London and in North Oakville earlier this year, the Toronto-based quick service smash burger concept RUDY is now preparing to open its 15th location in Huntsville in Muskoka, the popular vacation area, possibly in April. The 2255 square foot location at Howland Dr and Centre St North, is across from the Home2 Suites by Hilton Huntsville and will be the chain’s first drive-thru. Other opening outside of the GTA are also in the works for later openings. Introduced in 2016, RUDY is a burger chain celebrated for its classic, no-nonsense approach to burgers that has become a local favorite for its signature ‘Rude Dude’ smash burgers, crispy fries, and comfort-food vibe. In addition to the smashed cheeseburgers, the menu includes fried chicken sandwiches, fries and milkshakes, all made to order. Franchising since 2024 and with its present focus on the Ontario markets, Juan Angeles at The Behar Group Realty is responsible for the chain’s national site selection. Rudy targets end caps and highly visible street front locations in the 1100 to 1800 square foot range with at least 18 feet of frontage. Locations with a drive-thru option require 1500 to 2000 square feet.
