Earlier is September, Lyndhurst, New Jersey-based H-Mart opened a 36,000 square foot location on the ground level of the M2M Condos development on Yonge St at Finch Ave in North York. Joining over 20 stores in Canada and the eighth in GTA for the chain of Korean grocery stores. H-Mart Cummer, located just south of Cummer Ave., features an on-site food court, a wide selection of Korean and Asian goods including fresh produce, seafood, meat, bakery goods, etc. as well Korean lifestyle and beauty lines. H-Mart opened its first store in Woodside, Queens, N.Y in 1982 and in Canada since late 2003, the chain presently has stores in Victoria and Metro Vancouver in B.C, Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta and Montreal in Quebec. H-Mart is also reported on social media to be opening soon in Newmarket. The chain numbers over 97 stores in the United States and according to Industry publication Supermarket News, the stores vary in size starting at about 15,000 square feet with most being in the 50,000 square foot range.
