In Fall 2024, Ocean’s Fresh Food Group will open its first Nations Fresh Express at First Gulf Development’s Orion Gate Retail Centre at Steeles Ave. East and Hwy 410 in Brampton in greater Toronto. At 35,000 square feet, the unit is a smaller version of the Nations Fresh Food multi-ethnic supermarket and will feature brands from around the world as well as prepared foods for takeout, similar to the traditional Nations larger stores. This will be the ninth store in the Oceans/Nations chain. Introduced in Woodbridge in 2012, Nations Fresh Foods is a multi-ethnic full-service supermarket concept dealing in fresh groceries, produce, meats, seafoods, packaged goods along with Eastern and Western kitchens, a pizza bar, burger station, and prepared foods for takeout that can range from 90,000 square feet up to about 120,000 square feet. The smaller format Nations Express store concept, in a 15,000 to 35,000 square foot range locates in high traffic locations with a mix of office and residential.
