First in Nova Scotia……….

First in Nova Scotia……….

Last week, Happy Belly Food Group reported that franchisee Wade Bruce opened the first Heal Wellness quick-service restaurant in Nova Scotia. At about 1500 square feet, the unit at 218 Chain Lake Dr. in the Bayers Lake area in Halifax is the first of several planned for the HRM. Bruce is an existing multi-unit, multi-brand franchisee who already operates multiple Rosie’s Burger locations in Atlantic Canada. Featuring the menu of fresh smoothie bowls, açaí bowls, and smoothies, the rapidly growing Heal chain now numbers 52 locations with several more planned for Canada and the U.S. David Wilson of Lighthouse Franchising, the Heal Wellness Area Developer for Atlantic Canada, opened the first location in the Atlantic region in Charlottetown in PEI in late 2025. The Heal Wellness restaurants operate in highly visible locations with convenient access and in the 500 to 2000 square foot range and Lacey MacDonald and Dawn MacDonald at Blueberry Commercial Real Estate have been retained to handle the site selection in the Atlantic market.
