Having just opened a food court location in Promenades Drummondville in Drummondville, a full menu location in the Intermarche Logoria supermarket on Boul Langelier in St Leonard and its first mobile location at the Premium Outlets Montreal in Mirabel, the Montreal-based Piri-Piri Rôtisserie Portugaise counts 16 locations in Quebec. The 14-year-old quick service concept has become well known for its authentic Portuguese-style grilled chicken menu along with traditional dishes, served quickly in a casual atmosphere. The restaurants emphasize fresh, flavorful rotisserie and charcoal-grilled meats, custom sauces, and a menu ranging from classic chicken cuts to sandwiches and signature ‘Piri Bols’. With an expansion program that it largely franchise driven, Dan Knafo at Dan Knafo Real Estate Services is handling the site selection and notes that food court units are scheduled to open shortly in the Montreal Eaton Centre in downtown Montreal later in September and in Carrefour Laval in Laval in late October. He also notes that Piri-Piri Rotisserie is preparing to open its first location outside of Quebec, a 383 square foot unit in the food court at Place d’Orleans in Ottawa’s Orleans suburb in mid-November. Along with its continued search for individuals, entrepreneurs and multi-unit operators in several regions in Quebec and Ontario, the chain targets high traffic street and plaza locations in the 1200 to 1800 square foot range as well as food court locations. The chain is particularly interested in former restaurant locations with hood and ventilation. A current search is underway in the area near the Concordia campus in downtown Montreal, and in the Brossard area in Montreal’s South Shore.
