Following its opening in Montreal’s Royalmount lifestyle project in late 2024, Qwelli, the gelato and frozen treats specialist, is now preparing to open its first location in Ontario. The 927 square foot inline location, across from Knix and Aritzia in Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke, is expected to open later this month. Founded in 1987, the family-owned chain presently operates eleven locations in Quebec specializing in its signature gelato in about 40 flavours, served in a cone, bowl, shake. With the entry into the Toronto market, the chain plans continued growth in the area, targeting three more locations in the GTA in 2027 and five in 2028. Focusing on the major enclosed mall locations, Qwelli targets high traffic units in the 600 to 1200 square foot range with at least 26 feet of frontage.
