SIR Royalty Income Fund has reported that SIR Corp., the operating entity from which the Fund’s equity income is ultimately derived, has filed its financial results for the twelve-week and 24-week periods ended mid-February 2026. Food and beverage revenue from corporate restaurant operations increased by four percent to $68.1 million(Cdn), compared to $65.5 million(Cdn) for the twelve-week period ended February 9, 2025. Consolidated same store sales increased by 0.5 percent. In early December 2025, SIR opened a new Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill location in Oshawa that includes its new concept, Freida’s Beverage Kitchen. This Jack Astor’s + Freida’s location is expected to be added to the Royalty Pooled Restaurants effective January 1, 2027. Effective early January 2026, the new Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar location in Barrie was added to the Royalty Pooled Restaurants, and the closed Jack Astor’s location in Longueuil in Quebec was removed. The Royalty Pool currently consists of 52 restaurants that includes 35 Jack Astor’s restaurants, 14 Scaddabush locations, REDS Square One, The Loose Moose Tap + Grill and Edna + Vita. SIR continues to monitor consumer spending amid inflation, interest rates, and Canada–U.S. tariff impacts, while adapting to rising minimum wages and commodity costs affecting restaurant pricing. The company is enhancing dine-in experiences and expanding takeout and delivery offerings. SIR has also leased sites in Windsor, Aurora, and Kanata for potential Scaddabush expansion, while continuing to invest in existing locations and adjust plans based on market conditions. Director of Real Estate Lasan Nguyen has noted that the Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar targets markets with at least 85,000 people. Highly visible pad and end cap locations in high traffic areas are preferred. Units in the 5500 to 6500 square foot range with patios are required.
