Earlier in the Summer, Funvilla Family Entertainment Centres opened a 15,000 square foot centre, adjacent to the Walmart Supercentre at the SmartCentres Oshawa South on Laval Dr and Stevenson Rd South in Oshawa. It is the ninth location in Ontario for the chain of indoor playgrounds. Introduced in the late 2010s in Barrie, FunVilla is a family entertainment concept that offers a wide range of indoor attractions and activities for children, families and groups. The concept combines active play, interactive games, entertainment and party experiences in a vibrant, all-weather environment, creating an engaging destination for birthdays, family outings and social gatherings. The company was acquired in late 2025 by BMA International WLL, a Dubai-based investment firm. The chain continues to source corporate locations across Ontario, targeting 15,000 to 20,000 square foot locations in large format centres and regional centres. Former box store units with high ceilings and sufficient parking are targeted in family-oriented markets.
