In early September, McDonald’s Restaurants Canada opened its first drive-thru-only quick service restaurant in Canada. The freestanding 2000 square foot location at 550 Kenaston Blvd at Grant Ave. in the Choice Properties’ Real Canadian Superstore plaza in Winnipeg’s north end, is designed specifically for customers seeking speed, convenience and flexibility. Unlike traditional McDonald’s locations, the unit has no dining room or indoor seating and focuses entirely on drive-thru service, along with mobile and delivery orders. The restaurant operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The first drive-through-only McDonald’s restaurant opened in Fort Worth in Texas in late 2022 followed in late 2024 by a location in Los Angeles in California.
