The quick service Japanese and Korean-inspired Egg Club breakfast concept is preparing to open a 446 square foot location in the new Eplace Food Hall at the Yonge Eglinton Centre in midtown Toronto. In addition, two more units are planned to open later this year in downtown Toronto. These include a food court unit at the MetroCentre and a street front location in the Richmond/Spadina area that is presently under discussion. Introduced by Jason Yu in 2020 on Yonge St in downtown Toronto, the franchise concept features an open kitchen format and a large menu of egg sandwiches in various styles served on soft and fluffy authentic Japanese milk bread called Shokupan, along with its signature sauces. Presently there are ten Egg Club locations operating in Ontario and Alberta and Chris Wanzel at Urban Reform Realty handles the search in the major Canadian markets. In addition to the food court format, the specialty concept will operate in 800 to 1500 square foot high traffic and highly visible locations that provide a daytime population and strong pedestrian traffic.
