Over the weekend, the Mexican-inspired quick casual Guac Mexi Grill chain celebrated the grand opening of a location in a new plaza at 15 Rice Rd in Welland and the chain is now preparing for an opening at 765 Wonderland Rd South on the pad of the Westmount Shopping Centre in London. With these additions, the franchise chain now numbers 43 locations in Ontario and about 55 across Canada. Introduced in Toronto in 2016 by veteran restaurateur Trushna Makadia and franchising since 2017, Guac Mexi Grill features a fresh and healthy menu of burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, salads and enchilada with a customer-choice of fillings and salsas, sauces, marinating and guacamole that are made from scratch in-house daily. The chain continues to grow and is currently actively seeking sites in London, Belleville, Winnipeg, Edmonton and surrounding area. Kelly Farraj and Tania Nicoletti at The Behar Group Realty have been retained to handle the chain’s site selection across Canada and the chain seeks 1000 to 1400 square foot open centres, urban streetfronts, as well as food court locations. A minimum of 20-feet of frontage is required and strong exposure is important.
