In late May, Montreal-based restaurateur Lou Varoutsos and family opened the first Zoumi Mediterranean Bowls & Pitas quick casual restaurant in Kirkland in Montreal’s West Island area. The 2175 square foot unit at the Centre Kirkland on St Charles Blvd features a menu of customizable bowls and pita-based meals with a fresh, healthy angle highlighting classic Mediterranean ingredients such as rice, feta, olives, Greek salad, chicken, falafel, and harissa-style flavors. Having established the first location, the company is now exploring expansion opportunities and is looking for highly visible 2000 square foot locations with convenient access. Manon Larose and Michelle Marcotte-Blart at Oberfeld Snowcap have been retained to secure locations in Quebec.
