U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian opened its first Canadian showroom last week. The 3178 square foot inline location is near the Holt Renfrew store in Yorkdale shopping centre in Toronto. Founded in 2009 by RJ Scaringe, Rivian is an electric vehicle manufacturer and automotive technology company that focuses on producing premium electric trucks, SUVs, and commercial delivery vans. Its flagship models include the R1T pickup and R1S SUV. Rivian emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and outdoor-oriented design, while also developing charging infrastructure and energy solutions. The vehicles are manufactured in Normal in Illinois. Rivian currently has service centres across North America including about four in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.
