Pinot’s Palette is a ‘paint-and-sip’ entertainment concept that blends social experiences with guided art instruction. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Houston in Texas, the brand’s core offering is a two- to three-hour group painting class led by trained local artists, where guests create their own artwork in a relaxed, social setting while enjoying wine, cocktails, or other beverages. No prior artistic experience is required, making the concept accessible to a broad audience. Pinot’s Palette caters to a variety of occasions, including private parties, and corporate events, emphasizing creativity, community engagement, and entertainment. Operating as a franchise system with over 70 studios across the United States and Canada, its flexible franchise model provided multiple revenue streams. In mid-2016, Christena Smith and husband Chad Smith, the Canadian Master Licensees, opened the first international Pinot’s Palette on Dundas St West in The Junction area in Toronto and currently there are four studios in Ontario, in Toronto, Scarborough, Woodbridge and Barrie. The company is now seeking locations in the Ontario market and has retained Karen Koenig at The Behar Group Realty to handle the search. Targeting the North York, Aurora/Newmarket, Brampton, Durham Region or Burlington/Oakville communities, the Pinot’s Palette will operate in units in the 1500 to 3000 square foot range. Twelve-foot ceiling heights and 22-foot frontages are required.
