
In early April, franchisee Marty Menard opened his first Steel N Ink tattoo and piercing location at Devonshire Mall in Windsor in Southwestern Ontario. The 1500 square foot location is at the mall’s Howard Ave/Sydney Ave entrance. Equipped with the latest professional-grade equipment with modern artist workstations, and premium piercing jewelry, the clean and professional studio is designed to provide a modern, welcoming space where clients can comfortably explore tattoo ideas, piercings, and custom artwork. Andy Goodman, Vice President, Business Development with Steel N Ink notes that next up is the expansion of its studio at Limeridge Mall in Hamilton and a new studio at Southgate Centre in Edmonton. With these latest additions, including the chain’s first U.S. studio that opened in Austin in Texas in late 2025, the chain counts over 20 studios that combines tattoos and piercing, all done by creative and trained artists, along with the sale of body jewelry, apparel and aftercare products. Goodman is handling the franchising and site selection for the chain and notes for its continued growth, the chain is sourcing high profile locations in the 1000 to 1500 square foot range are targeted in or near the larger malls.
