Returns to Mississauga…………

Last week, DAVIDsTEA Inc. has returned to Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, opening a new 680 square foot flagship store in the mall, strengthening its presence in the Greater Toronto Area and bringing its Ontario store count to seven. The location offers the company’s complete assortment of loose-leaf teas, signature collections, accessories and its Tea Bar, supported by knowledgeable Tea Guides. The opening follows the launch of a store at Oshawa Centre in June and is part of DAVIDsTEA’s broader store-led growth strategy. The company plans to open additional locations this Fall at Southgate Centre in Edmonton and Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, B.C., with the goal of reaching 25 stores across Canada by the end of its fiscal year. The company views its physical stores as important brand-building and sales drivers, generating retail revenue while increasing demand through its e-commerce and wholesale channels in surrounding markets. The company-owned DAVID’s TEA stores operate in malls, street front, lifestyle and outlet centres in units in the 500 to 1000 square foot range. Oberfeld Snowcap handles the site selection for the company with Elise Hazen responsible for Canada and Justin Uditsky handles the U.S. real estate selection.
