Barrie – Open Centre – 42 Caplan Ave

As of May 1st, 2024, Toronto-based Maverick Development Corp. is seeking 5000 to 27,500 square foot uses in its newly acquired 93,294 square foot plaza at 42 Caplan Ave. at Bryne Dr. in South Barrie in Central Ontario. An end cap unit could be made available for the right user.  Previously anchored by Bad Boy Furniture, now Cosmaroma building supply, Herchi Furniture, TA Appliances and Value Village are presently operating in the plaza that is positioned adjacent to Home Depot and Staples.  Other uses in the immediate area include Farm Boy, Dollarama, The Brick and LCBO.   Two major road improvements are scheduled for the area that will improve the traffic to the area.  Presently under construction is the Bryne Dr. extension north past the Home Depot to the new Hwy 400 overpass from Harvie Rd. to Fairview Rd. or Big Bay Point.  Maverick Development Corp. acquired the Caplan portfolio in 2022 and remerchandised the portfolio.  Robert Flagal of Realty Advisors First Corp. has been retained to handle the leasing.
