In mid-July, Terrebonne-based pet foot and accessories chain Pattes & Griffes opened at Le Centre d’Achats St Jerome at Cure Labelle Blvd. at 101st Ave. in St Jerome, a suburban community about 45 kilometres northwest of Montreal. The opening brings the franchise chain to 55 locations in the province. Introduced in late 2011 on Hochelaga St in Montreal’s east quadrant, Pattes & Griffes specializes in natural and holistic pet foods. The stores feature a wide variety of brands of dry, wet, freeze-dried, dehydrated and raw foods with no byproducts, corn, wheat and soy. One of the largest holistic pet food chains in the province, some of the locations also offer grooming services and delivery services. In 2019, the chain launched its franchise program and continues to source franchisees throughout Quebec. The company seeks potential operators with management/business experience. Largely franchise driven, Pattes & Griffes traditionally locates in highly visible grocery-anchored centres and street front locations with convenient access and near complementary retailers.
