Last week, Ren’s Pets opened is 62nd store, a 7000 square foot inline location at Plaza REIT new Longo’s-anchored centre at Niagara St and Quaker Rd in Welland in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula. The store offers a broad selection of pet food, treats, toys and supplies, serving dog and cat owners along with a self-service dog wash station. Part of the Montreal-based Legault Group, the traditional Ren’s Pets stores operate in a range of sites including street front units, open plazas, regional centres and exterior units in enclosed malls. They are generally in a 7000 to 8000 square foot range with high ceiling heights and large frontages. The chain also includes a limited number of smaller urban format stores in a 4000 square foot range.
