Sharing Ontario………..

On Monday, we reported that the Calgary-based quick service Edo Japan chain of Japanese-inspired restaurants was actively seeking expansion opportunities in the Ontario market. While we stated that The Behar Group Realty is handling the site search the province, Edo Japan’s Director of Real Estate (Ontario) Jeff Weinman noted that the site selection responsibilities in Ontario are shares with Fraser Paddison and Candice Lerner-Fry at Marcus & Millichap in Ottawa who are responsible for the area east of Belleville to the Quebec border, with an emphasis on the greater Ottawa area.  Currently there are three Edo Japan restaurants operating in the Eastern Ontario region, in Nepean and Stittsville. The Behar Group Realty is handling the greater Toronto area, from Burlington to Cobourg, and Sevren Naphan of Bridgenorth Realty Inc. is assisting with the southwestern Ontario region.   The search continues for street front, mall and food court locations.  The size required is in the 1000 to 1500 square foot range.
