Continuing its rapid expansion in the United States, Barrio Burrito Bar has opened its latest three quick casual Tex-Mex restaurants, bringing the chain to 26 locations. Earlier in September, franchisee Manish Patel opened a 1400 square foot location in the Creekside Plaza at 1207 MacDade Blvd. in Collingdale in Pennsylvania, its first in the state. Franchisees Dhaval Patel and Rick Patel followed with the opening of a 1000 square foot location in a plaza at 1025 W, Main St in Lebanon in Tennessee and last week, franchisees Jag Dhillon, Bhupinder Gulati and Poonam Gulati opened the chain’s second location in Texas, a 1300 square foot unit in a new development at 1480 N. Custer Rd at Rowlett Rd in Allen. With ten openings so far this year, continued expansion is underway in new markets across the U.S. through its Master Franchise model and sub-franchises through its Master Franchisees. Barrio Burrito Bar is an affiliate of the 20-year-old Toronto-based barBurrito chain with its over 400 locations across Canada. The Barrio Burrito franchise brand features fresh Mexican-inspired cuisine including burritos, bowls, tacos, etc., focusing on quality ingredients, bold flavors, and neighborhood connection. Chief Development Officer Jeff Young notes that Barrio Burrito Bar has awarded several Master Franchise territories and continues to source 1200 to 1800 square foot highly visible locations, ideally in grocery-anchored shopping centers. Pad units and end caps are preferred, and prominent signage, convenient access, and strong daytime traffic are necessary.
