The Waffle Co is a dessert café franchise founded in 2017 by the directors of the Indian ice-cream brand Giani’s, featuring high-quality, creative waffles, mini pancakes and thick shakes. Originally launched in India, the brand quickly expanded, growing to over 125 locations across the country by the mid-2020s and building a reputation for its eggless Belgian-style waffles and other sweet treats. In 2024, The Waffle Co opened its first international location and first North American restaurant in Surrey in British Columbia, marking a key milestone in its global growth strategy. It was followed by a second location, a 1250 square foot street front in White Rock in 2025 as it strengthens its presence in the Canadian market.
