Initially introduced in 2019 in Brossard in Montreal’s South Shore as an online concept by Meriem Aloui and husband Anis Nouira, Mon Secret Gourmand is a unique fine pastry brand specializing in refined and visually striking desserts. A pioneer of trompe-l’oeil pastery in Quebec, desserts designed to resemble everyday objects or fruits, blending artistic illusion with refined pastry techniques, flavors, textures, and edible details, the company has become recognized for its fine pastries, product quality, and customer service. It later expanded into physical retail, where its signature trompe-l’œil pastries have become a defining feature of the brand. The collection includes popular pastries, such as La Framboise, La Mangue, La Pistache, Le Citron, La Noisette, Le Burger and La Poutine. The chain currently operates two retail locations, its original location in a plaza on Boul de Rome in Brossard and a second location inside Holt Renfrew Ogilvy in downtown Montréal. The brand also offers online ordering, with Québec and Canada-wide shipping. Expansion is planned and the chain is opening a location at the Royalmount luxury lifestyle centre in Montreal in November and unit at Place Bell in Laval in December. Addition growth is anticipated and Manon Larose at Urban Reform Immobilier has been retained to handle the site selection. Mon Secret Gourmand will operate in 700 to 1000 square foot high profile sites and is presently exploring the Rosemère, Westmount, Griffintown, Nun’s Island, St-Bruno and St-Lambert markets.
