In early October, a new MacEwen Quickie convenience location providing the one-stop shop for fuel, food and daily essentials, opened in Thorndale, a community located about 20 kilometres northeast of London in Southwestern Ontario. Located at 85 King St., the site features eight fueling stations, a touchless car wash while the store offers an expanded convenience selection. MacEwen Quickie is a Canadian convenience store chain operated by MacEwen Petroleum Inc., that has more than 120 locations across Ontario and Quebec. Founded in 1973, the Quickie brand provides snacks, beverages, coffee, baked goods and everyday essentials, with many locations also offering fuel, car washes, ATMs and postal services. In late 2021, fuel and retail convenience provider MacEwen Petroleum Inc. acquired the Ottawa-based Quickie brand, almost doubling MacEwen’s portfolio of stores. A year later, MacEwen Petroleum had revamped its convenience store business under the Quickie banner and in September 2026, introduced its newly refreshed Quickie store design in Ottawa with a fresh new look and an expanded beverage offerings. The new Thorndale MacEwan Quickie store is also offering the upgraded look and a convenient mix of products for customers on the go, including wine, beer, cider and other alcoholic beverages, Quickie and specialty coffees, cold drinks, Slushies, ICEE and F’REAL shakes. Food options include freshly baked goods, fresh foods and roller-grill favourites such as hot dogs and Tornados. ATMs are also available. MacEwen continues to source well-situated land and the company also offer single and multiple site development opportunities throughout Ontario and Quebec.
