Back in Vogue……….

Entertainment venue, The Ballroom Bowl has just opened its second location, a two level, 18,000 square foot location at the base of One Bloor, the mixed-use tower at Yonge and Bloor streets in downtown Toronto’s Yorkville area.  The full licensed premium casual recreation/entertainment concept combines bowling lanes, a full restaurant and bar/lounge area, live music, etc. In addition to its steady walk-in clientele, the upscale concept is designed to accommodate private functions, corporate and team-building events, parties, etc.  “Bowling is back in vogue, and we’re seeing the trend of social gaming really growing around North America,” said CBRE Ltd’s Alex Edmison who is handling the real estate requirements for the Ballroom Bowl, adding that there are plans for further expansion across the greater Toronto area. “We are under-served in Toronto when it comes to bowling and social gaming in general. It’s like a bowling desert here and people want more.”   Another location for the Ballroom Bowl has already been secured and while timing is unconfirmed, a late 2024 opening is anticipated.  The unit, a 15,000 square foot former Shark Club location at The Tenor, BentallGreenOak’s mixed-use project at 10 Dundas St East, is adjacent to the first Shake Shack location in Canada and the new Hard Rock Café. The initial Ballroom Bowl’s location opened in 2010 at John and Richmond streets in Toronto’s Entertainment District.  With it nine bowling lanes, big screen TVs and projection screens, lounge and restaurant, the 20,000 square foot two-level location can accommodate about 900 people. The Ballroom is looking for locations in the 15,000 to 20,000 square foot range in major suburban markets that are in close proximity to other bars, entertainment concepts, restaurants and major shopping hubs.
