In mid-June, the Lovisa chain of on-trend fashion jewelry boutiques opened in Cerrefour de l’Estrie in Sherbrooke and in July, it opens in Les Promenades Gatineau in Gatineau. This brings the chain to about 50 locations across Canada. Suzan Zalter is heading up the Lovisa real estate search in North America and notes that there are about ten more opening scheduled to open in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland in the 2026-2027 period and the chain continues to source locations in enclosed malls and lifestyle centres in all markets seeking highly visible units in the 800 square foot range. Lovisa is a fashion-forward jewelry concept offering a wide selection of necklaces, earrings, and rings, as well as piercing services. The chain targets a fashion conscious 25 to 45-year-old female clientele and features about 150 new styles in a broad range of quality products delivered to the stores each week. Introduced in Australia in 2010, the global chain with over 1000 stores in more than 40 countries entered the U.S. market in 2017 with a location in Glendale in California and in 2022, it entered the Canadian market. Ms Zalter adds that there are about 250 stores in the U.S. and about twelve more are scheduled to open in various market in the 2026-2027 period.
