Earlier in May, Bath Depot opened a freestanding 10,084 square foot location at 3235 Calgary Trail NW in Edmonton. The Montreal-based chain’s 50th location and third in Alberta, the opening marks the company’s continues western expansion. Introduced in 2008 by brothers Marc, François, Guy, and Gilles Nadeau, the Bath Depot/Bain Depot specialty stores feature a full selection of bathroom and kitchen items ranging from tubs to lighting to vanities. The family-owned corporate stores generally operate in open centres and strong retail nodes with or near major home improvement retailers and surrounded by established densely populated residential areas with higher household income. Units of 4000 to 6000 square feet with a minimum of 40 feet of frontage are preferred.
