Over the weekend, Edmonton-based beverage brand Sip Soda Co hosted the grand opening of its first location in Edmonton, a 2000 square foot unit at the Plaza 82 mixed-use building at 10514 82nd Ave/Whyte Ave in the city’s Old Strathcona neighbourhood. In addition, its fifth location and second in Edmonton, a 1650 square foot end cap location at the new Schonsee Landing at 71st St and 167th Ave, is opening shortly. Introduced in 2023 as a mobile ‘dirty soda’ concept, Sip Soda features customizable fizzy drinks enhanced with creams, flavoured syrups, juices, and ice. The specialty beverage concept opened flagship location at the Broadmoor Baseline Crossing in Sherwood Park in Alberta in mid-2025, and the franchise company followed with its second and third locations in Kamloops in British Columbia and St Albert in Alberta earlier this year. Designed to be accessible to entrepreneurs, with structured support in training and ongoing marketing assistance, the chain continues to source operators and suitable locations. The Sip Soda Co units are generally in a 1100 to 1600 square foot range.
