In late May, Toro Toro Sushi + Poke entered the Calgary market with its first premium quick casual restaurant outside of the GTA. The 2337 square foot unit is on Crowfoot Terrace at Crowfoot Crossing in the city’s northwest area. Known for its modern presentation, fresh ingredients and upscale takeout experience, the brand offers a menu featuring sushi rolls, sashimi, poke bowls and signature boxed platters designed for both individual meals and group dining. Toro Toro was introduced in 2021 in Concord in Vaughan by the Victory Group, a Toronto hospitality group, and presently the chain operates five locations in Greater Toronto. Lauren Giang at Oberfeld Snowcap has been retained to handle the site selection in Alberta and British Columbia for the brand targeting 1500 to 2000 square foot street front locations. A search is currently underway for a couple more locations in Calgary, followed by a search in Edmonton.
