Later this week, Sephora Canada introduces a new small-store retail format with the opening of its first location at 2235 4th Ave West in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood, marking a shift toward more neighbourhood-focused beauty shopping. At just over 2000 square feet, the store is designed to bring Sephora’s multi-brand discovery experience closer to customers in a more curated and convenient setting. It represents the company’s 147th store in Canada and reflects a broader strategy to enhance accessibility while maintaining the experiential, expert-led service. The Kitsilano location offers a tailored selection of popular prestige brands such as Rare Beauty, Glow Recipe, Merit Beauty, Rhode, and Sol de Janeiro, along with Sephora exclusives. The company emphasizes that the format responds to how consumers prefer to shop today—seeking tactile, personalized, and community-based beauty experiences. Jeffrey Berkowitz at Aurora Realty Consultants handles the chain’s site selection in Canada. Traditionally the Sephora stores operate in major malls and high-street locations from Newfoundland to British Columbia. The stores range in size from 3600 to 8500 square feet.
