Final negotiations are underway for a location in Montreal’s North Shore area for the Birdhouse Wingerie & Bar and once completed, expansion interest with shift to downtown Montreal and then to the South Shore area. Birdhouse Wingerie & Bar is a full-service freestanding restaurant concept that was introduced about two-years ago in Montreal’s West Island area. The casual restaurant features a menu of gourmet wings in a variety of flavours along with other comfort food selections such as burgers, tacos, nachos, poutines, salads and vegetarian offerings. All this is combined with a large choice of traditional and signature cocktails, beers, etc. Ben Labrecque at Oakmont Real Estate Services handles the site search for the concept and explains that once the company has established its first four units in the greater Montreal area, the attention will shift out of province, exploring both east and west, targeting markets with an upper income 29 to 49-year-old audience. The Birdhouse restaurants source locations with exterior access in enclosed malls and pad, freestanding, street, etc. sites in the 4000 to 5000 square foot range.
