In mid-September, RNR Tire Express, the Tampa, Florida-based chain of quality tire and custom wheels stores, opened its first location in Canada. Franchisees Rakesh Jegganolla and Sravan Sharma opened the tire and wheels sales and service unit in a freestanding six-bay, former auto service shop on a 21,600 square foot site, at 1080 Simcoe St North at Beatrice St West in Oshawa, east of Toronto. Along with the tire and custom wheels sales, the unit provides state-of-the-art mounting, balancing and alignment services. Specializing in the top tire brands as well as custom wheels and related services, RNR Tire Express operates over 200 locally owned and operated locations in 31 states and now, in Canada. Anticipating future growth, the franchise brand generally targets 4000 to 6000 square foot freestanding or highly visible end caps with convenient street access for two-bay units. Three or four-bay locations are preferred. A minimum ten-foot ceiling height is required in the retail showroom area and at least 14-foot ceiling height is necessary in the shop area. Second generation retail/automotive units are targeted.
