Montreal Nut Factory is a specialty food concept built on a family tradition of nut roasting and quality ingredients with history that dates back to Turkey in the late 1800s and Syria in 1930. In 1989, family member Farid Basse bought the generations of roasting expertise to Canada combining traditional craftsmanship with modern production along with an online shopping platform serving customers across Canada and the United States. The Nut Factory’s extensive assortment includes almonds, cashews, pistachios, peanuts, walnuts, seeds, dried fruits, specialty snack mixes, chocolate-covered nuts and sweets. Products are available in various flavours and preparations, including raw, dry-roasted, salted and seasoned varieties. The company emphasizes daily roasting, freshness and carefully selected ingredients, stating that it avoids artificial flavours, preservatives and additives. Plans for expansion are underway and Richard Gareau at Groupe Immobilier R. Gareau Inc. is handling the site selection. A location on St Jean Blvd. in Montreal’s West Island has been confirmed for Spring 2027 opening and a location in the South Shore area is currently under negotiations. The company anticipates further expansion in Quebec, bringing its traditional expertise, diverse selection of everyday snacks, nutritious alternatives and specialty treats along with convenient access. Highly visible units in the 2200 to 2500 square foot range in busy shopping areas are required.
