Flynn’s Dairy Bar & Convenience is a unique retail concept that, along with the traditional convenience component, features ice cream, loaded milkshakes, candy and hard-to-find snacks. Raees Shaikh and sons Arsh and Zaid opened the first Flynn’s in Spring 2020 at 1365 Hollis St in downtown Halifax and a second location opened in March 2021 at 5552 Kaye St. in the Halifax North End. In mid-December 2022, a third location opened at The Azal mixed-use project at 383 Herring Cove Rd. in Spryfield, also in the Halifax regional municipality, about 85-kilometres northeast of Halifax. Then, in early 2023, the fourth Flynn’s Dairy Bar opened a 1600 square foot unit in a former Subway restaurant location at 5994 Spring Garden Rd. at Robie St. downtown Halifax. A fifth location opens this week in a 1300 square foot location at the base of The George residential tower at 1924 Robie St and Pepperell St directly across from the QEII Hospital and around the corner from Quinpool Rd and the Halifax Common.
