For its second quarter that ended in early August 2026, Dollarama Inc. reported that sales increased by 17.6 percent to $2,026.6 million(Cdn), compared to $1,723.8 million(Cdn) in the previous second quarter. The increase was driven by the inclusion of a full quarter of sales of The Reject Shop Ltd., now Dollarama Australia Pty Ltd in Australia compared to a 13-day Post-Acquisition Period in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, growth in the total number of stores in Canada over the past twelve months, from 1,665 on August 3, 2025, to 1,734 on August 2, 2026, and comparable store sales growth in Canada. Comparable store sales in Canada increased by 5.4 percent, compared to 4.9 percent in the second quarter of 2025. During the quarter, 15 net new stores opened in Canada, compared to 27 in the corresponding period of the previous year. Four net new stores opened in Australia during the quarter and 25 stores renovated in Australia. “At a time when households are making careful spending decisions, customers continued to count on Dollarama for dependable value,” said President, CEO Neil Rossy. “Together with the execution of our teams, this contributed to our strong second-quarter performance and supports the increase in our annual Canadian Comparable store sales and net new store opening guidance.” Dollarama is also the majority shareholder, through its equity-accounted investments, in Latin American value retailer Dollarcity which has more than 750 stores located in Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru. During its second quarter ended in late June 2026, Dollarcity opened 29 net new stores, compared to 14 net new stores in the same period last year to end the quarter with a total of 781 stores, with 432 locations in Colombia, 124 in Guatemala, 116 in Peru, 88 in El Salvador, and 21 in Mexico. “We continue to drive profitable growth in Canada, and Central and South America, while building our presence in Mexico and advancing the transformation of our Australian business,” added Rossy. Dollarama’s previously announced plans to open 60 to 70 net new stores in Canada in fiscal 2027 remains unchanged. The Dollarama stores operate in 8000 to 15,000 square foot locations in malls, strip and power centres, lifestyle centres and street front locations in metropolitan areas, mid-sized cities and small towns all across Canada.
