Introduced in Toronto about nine years ago, Waxon Laser + Waxbar has become an upscale destination with its fast and efficient hair removal service for both men and women at an affordable price. The franchise chain presently operates about 15 locations, the majority in greater Toronto and one on Spring Garden Rd. in Halifax and several under development. In mid-October, Waxon opens in Liberty Village in downtown Toronto and its first location in Ottawa in the Lansdowne Live project is scheduled for late October. Also in Fall 2023, a unit is scheduled to open at the Creekside Crossing in Mississauga and the chain’s first location in Western Canada, in Edmonton is expected to open in 2023. The chain is currently planning growth throughout the GTA and had a particular focus on Woodbridge, Aurora, New Market, Richmond Hill, Brampton, Barrie, Collingwood, Toronto, North Oakville, Ancaster and Waterdown markets. Ali Baker, Mackenzie Kohl and Caitlyn Micuda at the Avison Young Retail Services Group have been retained to handle the sites selection. The bright salons target highly visible ground floor units in well-anchored plaza in residential growth areas. The size required is in a 900 to 1300 square foot range.
