In early September, the Los Angeles-based ladies’ sustainable limited-edition fashion and accessory chain Reformation opened an 1100 square foot location on level three at the Toronto Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto. The new store reflects Reformation’s signature design details, further enhanced by 1940s furniture, vintage Italian lighting, and custom Art Deco-inspired area rugs. Its third store in Toronto and fourth in Canada, the store features the brand’s proprietary tech-enabled concept, Retail X, which brings the best of Reformation’s online shopping experience to its physical store. In-store, visitors can conveniently shop an assortment of pieces that pair modern, clean silhouettes, including contemporary separates, relaxed denim, and a constant rotation of new dress arrivals. Recognized for its sustainable practices utilizing recycled fabrics and eco-friendly packaging, Yael Aflalo introduced the concept in Los Angeles in 2009, originally dealing in vintage clothing. Presently, the publicly traded company, operates over 60 locations across the U.S., two in France with a third opening soon, six in the U.K. and since 2019, four in Canada. Operating in both major malls and high street locations in various sizes, 2000 to 3000 square feet is the traditional requirement. Later in the Fall, Reformation opens a 2014 square foot location at The Summit in Birmingham in Alabama, its first in the state, and a 2008 square foot location in the Santana Row lifestyle centre in San Jose in California.
