Introduced on Sherbrooke St West at Madison Ave. in Montreal’s West End in 2023, Turnberry Acai is a quick service açaí bowl concept focused on delivering premium, health-conscious offerings in a lifestyle-driven setting. The brand specializes in customizable and signature açaí bowls made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, including fruits, granola, nut butters, and indulgent toppings. Emphasizing wellness, its products are vegan-certified, gluten-free, and rich in antioxidants. Founded with a goal of creating a fresh, elevated food experience for a younger, community-oriented audience, the brand opened a second location in late 2025 on Chemin de la Cote-de-Liesse in Saint Laurent and in mid-May 2026, the chain opens a location in the food court at Carrefour Angrignon in LaSalle. This will be the chain’s first location in an enclosed mall. Designed as a franchise concept, Turnberry Acai is now exploring Montreal’s South Shore and North Shore markets targeting smaller units in the 600 to 1000 square foot range. Co-founder Joe Tabbah is handling the franchising and Charles Gareau at Groupe Immobilier R. Gareau Inc has been retained to handle the site selection for the chain.
Catherine Simard Lanthier, Westcliff’s Leasing Director responsible for the leasing at Carrefour Angrignon reports that spaces ranging from about 300 square feet to 6000 square feet in various formats are available in the mall in the southwest quadrant of Montreal. She adds that the mall continues to source footwear, mens/womens apparel, services, specialty foods, fitness, etc. to add to its broad merchandise mix. Carrefour Angrignon is an established 822,000 square foot single level mall at Angrignon and Newman boulevards, just off Hwy 20. The mall is anchored by Cineplex along with Best Buy, Old Navy, HomeSense, Sports Experts, etc. It serves over 231,000 people in its trade area and the average household income in the area is over $99,000 annually.
