Beertown Public House, a leading premium casual dining restaurant concept by the Kitchener/Waterloo-based The Charcoal Group of Restaurants, is actively seeking expansion opportunities in the Ottawa market. Introduced in Cambridge in Southwestern Ontario in 2012, the Beertown chain has become known for its chef-inspired menu, extensive selection of craft beer and elevated yet approachable dining experience. With its opening in London at White Oaks Mall in late 2024, the chain numbers twelve operating locations in southern Ontario. Construction is also underway on a 5733 square foot location at Lansdowne Place in Peterborough and a 6193 square foot unit at 140 York Blvd. in Richmond Hill, both expected to open in Fall 2026 and the chain is now seeking expansion opportunities in the Ottawa market. Dev Hubraj at Webster Retail Commercial Real Estate Ltd is handling site selection for the corporate-owned restaurants and notes that Beertown Public House is sourcing units of about 5200 square feet in high-profile retail locations, in dominant shopping centres, power centres and mixed-use developments that have a strong daytime and evening traffic. Freestanding buildings, end-cap opportunities and locations with patio potential are preferred.
