Heads for the East Coast……..

Heads for the East Coast……..Heads for the East Coast……..Founded by Tetsushi Mizokami in Hakata in Japan in the 1970s, Uncle Tetsu has grown from a single bakery into an internationally recognized Japanese cheesecake chain known for its signature soft, fluffy cheesecakes. First established as a dedicated cheesecake shop in 1990, the company has expanded across Asia, North America, Australia and beyond through corporate and franchise locations, with strong Canadian growth since its Canadian debut in 2015 on Bay St. in downtown Toronto. With about 15 locations in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta, in late April, the chain entered the Atlantic Canada market with its first location, a 500 square foot unit on level three at the Halifax Shopping Centre in Halifax in Nova Scotia. Alongside its popular cheesecakes, the chain also offers cheese tarts, madeleines and specialty desserts, positioning Uncle Tetsu as a distinctive player in the premium bakery and dessert market.
