Late last week, Turkish café chain Mado held the grand opening of its third location in Canada.  The 1700 square foot end cap unit is at the CF Shops at Don Mills in Toronto with a patio area fronting onto the centre’s public square.  A destination for Turkish delicacies, Mado features an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus ranging from exquisite breakfast platters to freshly made baked goods and baklava, aromatic coffees and teas, as well as the signature Turkish ice cream.  Originally an ice cream parlour and later a pastry shop, Mado is a family-run business that opened its first store in 1992 in Istanbul and presently has about 400 locations worldwide. With its first location in Canada on Dufferin St in Toronto in 2021, the chain has followed with openings in Square One in Mississauga and at 144 Yonge St. in downtown Toronto.  In addition to the just opened Don Mills location, Mado is scheduled to open shortly in The Well in downtown Toronto and at Masonville Place in London.
